Convertible. These 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente's were considered to
be on the leading edge of the muscle car era back in 1965. Not only
were these cars graced with muscular numbers but the appearance was
certainly 'Caliente"! This restored classic has a 289 CID V8 that
is paired up to a dual range 3-speed automatic transmission, and a
very highway friendly 2.80:1 rear end gear. This example is
finished in a high gloss black exterior, black convertible top, and
a beautiful red vinyl interior. This rare Caliente comes with a
power top so you cruise the warm days with the top down and really
take in the memento of this gem. This Mercury is supplemented with
a hidden modern stereo with auxiliary input and CD player that adds
to the comfort when cruising. This Comet had an extensive
restoration which included stripping the body to bare metal and
painted with single stage PPG paint, all chrome was re-chromed and
all stainless was removed and polished, many new parts were
installed bringing this car up to the great condition it is at
today, plenty more detailed restoration information is available
upon request. The Comet options include Vinyl interior, seat belts,
Cragar wheels, redline radial tires, and an AM radio still
installed in the dash for those period car collectors! This
