Vehicle Description
You don't often get a second chance in life, so consider this
carefully. This 1970 Plymouth GTX is the real deal, a golden beast
from Detroit's heyday. Positioned initially as the "gentleman's"
muscle car, the GTX was seen as the refined alternative of the
MOPAR fraternity. Think of it as the body builder bulging out of a
tailored suit. 440 cubic inches of big block Chrysler "Wedge" motor
put down 375 of Chryslers finest horses, paired to a three speed
automatic. This 440 featured a 4-barrel carb, mild cam and dual
exhausts. It also featured one of the best names ever bestowed on
an engine, the Super Commando.
Let's start with the fender tag and VIN breakdown first proving the

This GTX has been painstakingly restored by Hodge Restoration of
Inman, South Carolina. The Mopar expert invested over 5 years into
this restoration and carries with it over $72,000 in just
restoration receipts alone. First she was stripped to the bare
metal and a complete rotisserie restoration was completed. Any
concerns with rust were immediately taken care of with new
quarters, trunk floor, doors, hood, and trunk lid. The restoration
culminated by finishing the classic B-Body in the original Poly
Gold Metallic, paint code FY6 - with the correct accompanying matte
stripes lining the sides and hood.
Inside you'll be met with a period-correct interior, with a wooden
dash, and center console. Sitting in newly minted vinyl clad bucket
seats, you'll find an assortment of options. Power steering, brakes
and a clean Vintage A/C air conditioning unit make this muscle car
a blast to behind the wheel. Inside the new theme continues with a
new package tray, carpet, headliner, door handles, rebuilt original
gauges, new dash, new foam, new mouldings, new glass, new antenna,
new seat covers, door panels, new arm rests... and the list goes
on.
Completely finished in September of 2014, this professionally
restored GTX has just over 3000 miles since the extensive 5-year
restoration. This is a stellar example of a hard to find GTX - they
don't get better than this; if you hesitated in 1970, don't let
this one get away.
