Presented in a Triple Black color combination, this 1979 Mercedes
Benz 6.9 may very well be the best example in the United States.
Every aspect of this car is original and like new, both
cosmetically and mechanically. The car was owned by a renowned
Mercedes Benz collector who made every effort to meticulously
maintain the car, with most of the service and maintenance being
performed by the late Andrew Bach, considered one of the best
Mercedes-Benz mechanics in the U.S. The car has a beautiful black
leather interior in as new condition and has special options
including black velour seat inserts(option code number 900a),
electric driver's seat with door panel mounted controls(option code
number 221) and European headlights. These desirable options were
ordered from the Mercedes-Benz factory by Andrew Bach and were
installed as per factory standards. The factory sunroof works as it
should, and the air conditioning blows cold. The original black
paint looks like new and the chrome is excellent. The car has had a
complete service and hydraulic work and checkup performed just 50
miles ago. The work was done at Star Motors in New York, a renowned
facility for 6.9 Mercedes. The hydro pneumatic self leveling
suspension performs flawlessly and the big 6.9 liter engine is
incredibly smooth. Having the distinction of being one of the first
vehicles equipped with anti lock brakes from the factory, these
cars not only handle, brake and out perform many of the modern
luxury sedans, but they look better doing it as well. A 1978 450
SEL 6.9 recently sold at Gooding and Co for $156,000 and we beg
anyone to tell us that their car was of better original quality
than ours.
