Vehicle Description
The P1800 is a car that is an attractive package inside and out
thanks to unique lines similar to the GT cars offered at the
time.
This Volvo has overdrive!
This car has been owned by the same person since 1985. That person
also had a full restoration done on the car which was completed in
2009 and included a full interior re-trim at a cost of
approximately $5,000. We have stacks and stacks of receipts from
the restoration process, as well as correspondence between the
owner of the car and the shops that carried out the restoration.
The correspondence details exactly what was done to the car and
when.
The interior is very nicely finished in tan leather and gives the
feel of an expensive Italian GT car. The seating position is
comfortable with the large steering wheel and shifter within easy
reach. A Motorola Radio is mounted in the dash next to the
auxiliary gauges.
The exterior was repainted during the restoration process and was
finished in a 1966 Mercedes Benz color of Light Ivory which is a
hue that is very close to Volvo's 'Yellow' paint (Code 97) that was
offered on the 1969 P1800. Another interesting part of the exterior
is the wheels. They are very rare Motor Wheel Spider Magnesium
Wheels, said to be one of very few sets in Volvo fitment.
The engine is a B20 engine that has been bored over 100cc for a
final displacement of 2100cc. It breathes through twin two barrel
Weber Carbs, and has approximately 4,000 miles since the
rebuild.
