The Mercedes-Benz SL series started out as the top of the line
sports luxury tourer that offered both performance and comfort. The
third generation SL was called the R107 chassis and is one of the
most recognizable Mercedes of all time. Produced from 1971 all the
way to 1989, the R107 lived a long and cherished life. The United
States was an extremely popular market for the personal luxury
coupe and almost ? of all SL's were sold here. While not as quick
or pretty as their European cousins, the US market SL's still
represented the cream of the personal luxury car crop. The top dog
was the 560SL that was powered by a 5.6L V8 that produced 227hp and
could hit a top speed of nearly 140mph. It was smooth as butter and
was mated exclusively to a silky automatic transmission.

for your consideration. Finished in Light Ivory, this lovely car is
in excellent shape inside and out. The body is extremely clean and
the car has an excellent dark brown hard top and a body color
factory hard top. The car also features 15in "Gullideckel" alloy
wheels with good Yokohama tires and it features stock US body
trimming. The interior features full Palomino leather and is in
excellent shape. Wear is minimal and the dash is clean and very
original. The car features burl wood trim, factory Becker stereo,
automatic climate control, factory instrumentation, power windows,
power locks, and power mirror. This car was sold new in Florida and
spent much of its life in Minnesota. It spent a little time in
Arizona and has been in Michigan since 2016. This car has been
extremely well cared for, always garaged and always serviced. The
transmission was serviced in 2016 and the timing chain and
tensioner were replaced in 2015. Other documents include the owners
manuals, service records and receipt, window sticker, and
handwritten records.
A well documented, well serviced car, this excellent SL drives very
well and is in stunning shape. It is finished in a unique color and
as the values are on the rise, it pays to stand out from the crowd.
Everything from the engine bay to the undersides is in tip top
shape and it comes with all of the paper documentation, a pair of
keys, tool kit, spare tire, first aid kit, and the factory hardtop.
