Vehicle Description
Introduced in 1966, the Toronado was a large a personal luxury
coupe designed to compete with the Ford Thunderbird and Buick
Riviera. The first US market car to be produced with front wheel
drive, the Toronado featured GM's new Turbo Hydra Matic transaxle
transmission. The second generation model hit the market in 1971
with a much greater focus on the new personal luxury trend and
featured the full gamut of luxury and convenience features.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this classy 1974 Toronado for
your consideration. Finished in Tuxedo Black with red accent
striping, this is an eye catching car. The paint quality is very
nice overall, with good gloss. Chrome trim is in nice shape and
there are a lot of stylistic elements including the Landau vinyl
roof, upright hood ornament, high mounted brake lights, deluxe
hubcaps and white wall tires. The rubber filler trim between the
rear bumper and body is missing however. The interior is
comfortable and spacious and very well equipped. The front bench
seat is split 40/60 and features nice cloth upholstery. Tons of
features are included such as power seats, power locks, power
windows, radio, cruise control, tilt steering column, and tons of
artful chrome and wood look trim pieces. Headliner, dash, door
cards, and trim are all in great shape.
Fitted with the Olds 455cid Rocket V8 engine with an estimated
250hp, this Olds has the power one would expect from a luxury
model. A smooth automatic transmission, stable ride, power disc
brakes, and variable power steering add to the convenience of a
classic American Land Yacht.
