Vehicle Description
To Be Auctioned Off No-Reserve Beginning on Sept. 19th. Estimate
$20,000 - $25,000.
This incredible piece of car art was built by Hall of Fame car
designed and builder Jay Ohrberg. Named "Soul Train" it pays
tribute to Michael Jackson and the TV show he frequently appeared
on "Soul Train". What started off as a vision, made its way to
paper and eventually became a reality. It is constructed completely
out of metal. This is not fiberglass! It has 4-wheel front steering
and dual rear axles. It was originally designed to be able to run
and drive but because Jay was under a deadline to have the car
ready for the show circuit, he never finished the mechanics. The
car had toured all over the world, it has visited more countries
than most people have. When we acquired the car from Jay it was
looking tired from traveling so much. Under Jays supervision, the
car was given a show quality paint job with lots of custom air
brushing making it as nice, if not nicer, than when it was first
built. The car has been on display in our museum for over 10 years.
Being a static display, we never attempted to finish the mechanics
and it is being sold as an in-operational vehicle on a bill of sale
only.
Jay Ohrberg has built some of the worlds most famous and unusual
custom cars including many from TV and Movies. They have been
displayed in museums all over the world, published in magazines and
have even been in the Guinness Book of World Records. Jay was a
ghost-builder building cars for people like George Barris. If you
are not familiar with his name, you are familiar with his work!
