Ready for a cool street rod but tired of the same old Fords running
around? This 1938 Plymouth Custom Coupe is your answer. With its
rounded fenders, unique grill and curved roof line this custom is
all street rod. What's even better is this classic is all steel!
With the popularity of street rodding, fiberglass bodies started
being produced all over the place a few decades ago which in the
long run has driven the value of real original steel cars up even
higher so in todays market, steel is king. The body of this vintage
Plymouth is in great shape with no evidence of rust or body damage.
Some of the original trim pieces have been removed along with the
bumpers but just enough chrome and stainless was left around the
grills and headlights for a great look. Polished side mirrors have
been added to both sides and hug the body much more than the
original long arm mirrors. The paint is done in a very nice
metallic Grey that has a Blue tint to it that really comes to life
out in the sun. It was freshly painted in 2014 and has been well
cared for since. The car is actually stored in a car capsule so not
only is it protected from the weather but even from dust! The body
sits on a 1972 Nova frame that painted all Black. The car has a
great stance and looks very cool rolling down the road on its
Colorado Custom wheels. Wrapping those wheels are BF Goodrich
Touring T/A tires which are brand new.
The car still has the original steel hood that opens from either
side to reveal the new crate 350 V8 motor. The motor has around
2,500 miles on it and runs very well. In addition to being a nice
driver the car was build to show well so you will find a lot of
engine add ons like a custom air cleaner and Edelbrock valve covers
for a nice clean look. Paired with the motor is a Turbo 350
automatic transmission that moves through the gears smoothly with
no issues. The car also features power steering and air
conditioning which makes it very comfortable to drive. It has drum
brakes on all four corners which slow it to a stop with no
problems.
The interior of the car is brand new and done in a two tone White
and Grey upholstery. It features dual bucket seats which are very
comfortable and adjustable. The door panels have been well done
with Billet door handles and arm rests. A custom center console has
been made which provides cupholders and houses the power window
controls and aftermarket AM/FM/CD player. The dash has been painted
to match the body and houses the white faced VDO gauges. AC vents
have also been inset into the dash and blow cold. A painted tilt
steering column sits in front of the driver and is topped off with
a Colorado custom steering wheel. The trunk of the car has been
nicely upholstered as well and offers a ton of storage space.
This cool cruiser has a great look and runs down the road well.
