This beautiful '85 Silverado has lived a rust free life spending most, if not all its time in Georgia. These square body, short box trucks have become one of the hottest new collectibles and this one has recently been given a beautiful restoration and runs, drives and sounds as good as it looks. I will do my best to provide you with enough pics, a video so you can hear it start up and running, and an honest description to help you decide if this gorgeous Silverado should be in your garage. Living most if not all its life in Georgia this C-10 had a rock solid body before it was treated to an extremely nice new paint job in an eye-popping Bright Red base coat/clear coat that is super slick.I it was an original Apple Red truck. Many hours were spent in prepping the body for the paint job including removing the bed and doors so that all of the body panels could be sanded down and blocked so that the finished product would be a super straight glistening body. Finished about 3 months ago the body is truly near flawless and the paint almost looks wet and looks even better in person then it does in the pics. Doors shut nicely and overall body panel fit is excellent. Once the paint job was finished the previous owner he needed to replace almost all of the Silverado body trim so that it looked as good as the paint job. Bumpers were replaced, grille was replaced, new chrome headlight bezels, new door handles, new running lights and tail lights, new sideview mirrors, and more!!! The bed was sanded down and then a high end spray in bed liner was applied and looks great! All new weatherstripping and window felts were used during re-assembly. If I had to pick the truck I would mention that the stainless tailgate panel was not replaced but still looks great with just a minor blemish to the left of the handle, and the thin chrome trim around the rear glass shows a bit of age. Power windows function perfectly with new motors and glass overall looks great with a very small chip in the windshield. Overall I would say the paint and body is definitely show worthy for the local shows and cruise ins and looks even better in person then it does in the pics. I am confident the next lucky owner will be impressed with this truck when it arrives.
Next, the interior was completely gone through with new door panels, new seat upholstery, new headliner, new high end dash pad, new dash bezel, new carpeting and more. Black bench seat is super comfortable. and 3 point seat belts plus a third center seat belt are in place. Comfort tilt steering works great and original steering wheel looks fantastic. Air conditioning is blowing nice and cold and previous owner replaced the a/c compressor and accumulator. All of the gauges, lights and turn signals appear to be working correctly. The aftermarket stereo is not currently powering on but we will look in to this. Overall the interior looks fantastic and is extremely comfortable ready for a nice drive with your loved one by your side.
Under the hood is a 350 V8 GM Crate motor with an estimated 275 horsepower and approximately 10,000 miles on it. Very strong motor breathing through a nice set of headers and back through the new dual exhaust with a great set of Magnaflow mufflers for a great tone. Smooth shifting Turbo 350 automatic transmission with strong 10 bolt rear with stock 2.73 gears in the rear for highway cruising. This C-10 handles the road beautifully and has a great stance. Power steering tracks great and power front disc brakes stop true and straight. Front stabilizer bar, and new shocks all around. This Silverado has a great stance! Lowered 2" in front with drop spindles and 3" in rear and sitting on a great looking brand new set of staggered gray spoke 20" Ridler wheels, 10" wide in back with 275/40/20 tires and 8" up front with 245/40/20's. This gives this truck a slightly more modern look without being slammed to the ground. Of course if you decide you want it lowered even more there are plenty of good kits on the market to achieve this. This C-10 really hits the road beautifully and runs and drives fantastic. No overheating issues and we just put about 50 miles on it in the 90 degree Atlanta heat with the A/C running. Hard to believe this truck is 33 years old and what makes it so great is that is much more drivable than some of the older models and has more of the modern amenities. As you will see the engine bay is nice and neat so you can be proud to pop the hood at the shows and cruise ins. The undercarriage also looks great with no rust issues. I have the clean carfax showing the history starting in 1992. The option list tag is still in the glovebox and shows the long list of original options this Fleetside Silverado was ordered with.
