For Sale: 1965 Chevrolet Impala in Columbus , Georgia

Vehicle Description

This is the first year, debut, of the Caprice which was a sub-model (luxury option) of the Impala. It has been restored as a daily driver. It runs great and has original engine. The transmission has been upgraded to a 4 speed OD (200R4) which is newly rebuilt with heavy duty/premium components. The original Powerglide will be included with the sale and was operational at time of removal. The new transmission allows the car to cruise at 1600-1700 RPMs at 70-75 MPH and now gets around 15-16mpg HWY. Nearly everything on the car has been restored/replaced/reman'd. Too many items to list all the things that are new, including the interior, upholstery, carpet, vinyl top,  radio, paint, etc. The engine was rebuilt several years ago but has less than 2000 miles on it. This is the original color of the car however the interior has been changed to black which compliments the top very well. All weather-stripping and velvet channeling is new. Trunk has been coated with Por15 and painted with trunk splatter paint, correct for the year. It sports 15" Camaro Rally Wheels however, the original 14" hubs will come with it. There are also many other "extra" parts that I have accumulated that will be included as well. Selling because we are in the military and will be moving where we cannot take the car. I have owned the car for almost 20 years and it was procured from my great grandmother who had it since the 60s. It has been garage kept its whole life as far as I am aware which is a testament to it being a "survivor". This is a solid car, no questions, no surprises. It isn't perfect, but it is close. Front bumper recently re-chromed, the rear is original and in good condition. This thing purrs and is a pleasure to drive. Six OE matching seatbelts installed for safety of all passengers. The price is very fair and firm. I've got a lot more $ in the car than the price indicates. Cheers. Happy hunting.
