Vehicle Description
1934 Chevrolet Custom Rat Rod
This is a cool custom Rat Rod that has a lot going for it at a very
low cost. You see a lot more Ford street rods rolling around then
Chevy's which actually makes this 34 Chevrolet Rat Rod custom
pretty unique. The Tudor Sedan body is in good solid shape and
painted a Suede Black. It is then accented with Red and White
pinstriping with some very cool pinstriped flames along the doors.
Old School is written out in a vintage sign style and is exactly
what this car is. It has that old school look and pulls it off
well. The Red found in the striping work ties in nicely with the
Red steel wheels which look great on the car. Those are then
wrapped with wide white wall tires completing the nostalgic
look.
The car runs and drives great especially with the 454 V8 motor
under the hood. The odometer indicates 1,789 miles which was when
the car was built but the motor has about 30,000 on it. The car
runs without fenders so the Red theme was used throughout the motor
as well. A lot of the components are painted Red and the flames on
the valve covers are painted Red as well. The motor starts up
nicely and has a great sound through the dual exhaust. Other nice
components include the Edelbrock carburetor, Edelbrock air cleaner,
and an HEI ignition system. Mated to the engine is a Turbo 350
automatic transmission that sends power back to the 10 bolt
Oldsmobile 88 rear end. During the build the front end was
converted to an independent front suspension and adjustable coil
overs added in the rear. The body sits on a boxed frame that is
channeled 3.5 in the front and 7 in the rear.
The interior is done in a combo of Black and Red with nice bucket
seats. It has modern lap belts up front with no seats in the back.
The back has been kept as a storage area. The dash is done in all
Red and kept clean other than the white faced VDO gauges. A tilt
column sits in front of the driver and is topped with a Grant GT
steering wheel. In true rat rod style a tall Lokar shifter is
mounted to the floor and features a custom Crown Royal bag boot.
Just because it is a rat rod doesn't mean all the luxuries were
left out because it does have both power windows and power
steering.
This fun classic has a neat look and best of all is being offered
up at a very inexpensive price. If you are looking to get into the
hobby this would be a great place to start. It has a good look,
runs great and is something you could change up or add to over time
for very little initial investment.
