stunning in person. The SLR McLaren showcases the experience of
both Mercedes-Benz and its Formula 1 partner McLaren and is powered
by a hand-built 617-horsepower supercharged, twin-intercooled
5.5-liter V8, the first engine developed exclusively by
Mercedes-AMG. The gearbox is a 5-speed automatic transmission
combined with AMG Speedshift with Comfort, Sport, and Manual
programs. This 2008 SLR McLaren body is carbon fiber composition
construction and the brakes are carbon ceramic discs with 8-piston
caliper at the front and 4-piston calipers at the rear. Under hard
braking above 59 mph, the adaptive rear spoiler acts as an
airbrake, popping up at a 65-degree angle for increased downforce
and improved stability. The front and rear suspension use a forged
double wishbone setup with an anti-roll bar in the front. The
brakes are monitored by Mercedes sensotronic brake control and are
equipped with ceramic composite brake discs. This hi-performance
machine also comes with the comfort and convenience features you
expect from Mercedes-Benz. Such features include: 6-way power
adjustable body-contoured carbon fiber sport seats with custom
sized inserts and lumbar support, aluminum trim details,
