Vehicle Description
This 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Firehawk is part of a rare
breed. Firehawks attained their upper class status via
post-production trips to GM performance experts Street Legal
Performance, where they received a series of well-executed upgrades
to set them apart from the rest of the modern day muscle car crowd
of their era. This specimen is a standout even for this exalted
group. It harbors a professionally modified and tuned engine under
its hood and comes complete with a dyno sheet to prove its
abilities, as well as a clean CarFax report to show it's avoided
any notable collisions, and Firehawk registry documentation to
prove it's the real deal.
The navy blue metallic color this Firebird wears is looking strong
and still shows a great shine - the car has a thoroughly garage
kept appearance. As its clean CarFax report will attest, it's also
stayed out of trouble and remains in good alignment - its body
lines are nice and even and the doors open and shut smoothly. The
layer of clear wrap it carries on its front bumper, headlights and
parts of its front fenders has done a good job of protecting it
from any damage from more incidental contact. Its T-top
configuration is a definite positive - the feature allows you to
transition from open air motoring to hard top protection very
easily, and the panels this '02 comes with are in very solid shape.
The Firehawk emblems on the doors signifying the car's special
status still look sharp and really stand out nicely from their blue
surroundings. A pair of functional hood scoops not only look great,
but also send cold air to the unusually powerful engine below the
hood.
The charcoal colored interior has come through the years
impressively well and looks very fresh, with leather bucket seats
up front that retain plenty of padding and show only minor evidence
of wear - no small feat after more than 15 years of service. The
remainder of this Pontiac's interior also shows well - the center
console carries no signs of abuse and the dash area is downright
impressively clean, with its gauges clear and fully functional and
a dash pad across the top that's yet to develop any cracking.
Comfort and convenience features include electric mirrors, power
door locks, power seats, power windows, a tilt column, air
conditioning that's in top form and an AM/FM/CD player to provide
your audio accompaniment while on the road. Lift the rear hatch and
you'll find a good amount of usable storage space behind the back
seat.
The 5.7 liter LS1 V8 was already a potent performer when it left
the factory, but the addition of an ATI supercharger, upgraded fuel
deliver components and a Stage 2 TSM cam takes power to a much
higher level. The engine cranks out a full 561 horsepower. That's
no estimate - the dyno sheet is on board to prove it. The engine
has a rumble to it that lets you know right away it's to be taken
very seriously and puts out a great sounding exhaust note through
its full length, ceramic coated headers. There's a 4-speed
automatic transmission sitting right behind the engine that sports
some upgraded components of its own to properly prepare it to
handle the engine's output. Koni shocks, struts and springs have
recently been installed to maximize both cornering and ride
quality, while power disc brakes at all four corners - featuring
slotted and drilled rotors for improved heat dissipation - provide
prompt, fade resistant stops. This very well-equipped
post-millennial muscle car rides on a set of 17" Firebird chrome
rims wrapped with Nitto 555 tires.
Its great combination of looks and power makes this 2002 Pontiac
Firebird Trans Am Firehawk a coveted street machine that would be
the crown jewel of any garage. Call today!
