Headed to Barrett Jackson Las Vegas 2018. Crossing the block
Thursday Sept 27th Lot Number 52.1. This 1952 Mercury was the first
year for the Iconic Monterrey name plate and continued the Art-Deco
body lines of the previous post war Mercury Lineup. Interior space
was increased and more space age comfort options were offered. The
car was still powered by Mercury's highest horsepower Flathead V8
which is still powering this amazing Merc. The car was a solid west
coast survivor before being treated to the gorgeous customization
you see before you. The Hotrod Black paint looks great and the car
will have a very cool flame job installed prior to auction.
The interior is very cleanly done in Ostrich Leather, loop carpet,
and the hot rod theme carried onto the dash and steering wheel. The
fit and finish is high quality throughout. Inside the glove box is
a hidden AM/FM/CD and a few speakers are hidden throughout the
cabin.
The big Flathead 8 runs like a top and has the original 3spd Manual
Column shifter still in place. Car sounds great and has period
correct lake pipe exhaust. The car also has a custom Dixie horn
setup under the hood for some added fun.
