This 1966 AMC Rambler Classic 550 has a 232ci straight 6 with a 3-speed on the column and is mostly original. The car has been repainted by a previous owner and has had the upholstery done as well, albeit prior to the paint. Recently updated with new stainless exhaust, gas tank, shocks, water pump, and clutch cable. The car has been to Woodward Cruise in Detroit driving from Columbus, OH, up and back and cruising all day with no issues and averaging ~24mpg.
This is a great cruiser with awesome gas mileage. It is manual everything, even the windshield washer foot pump!!! There were 5,505 2-dr 550 sedans made in 1966, the lowest production year of this major styling period. White not being a popular color in the 60s, white brings that production number way down to a much rarer number. Be the only one at your local cruise in or big time car show!
While I am the 4th owner, and this is still your typical old lady's car. The owner's manual matches the trunk key so you know the paperwork is legit.
Easy, low maintenance cruiser that gets plenty of looks and conversation for that classic 60s styling wherever it goes.
Take this one home and enjoy immediately!
