Vehicle Description
This 1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk is finished in Park Green with a
Parchment White roof and fin inserts. It has the correct green and
blue interior. It is powered by a 289ci Sweepstakes overhead-valve
V8 engine with a McCulloch supercharger rated at 275hp, mated to an
upgraded Flightomatic automatic transmission. The complete frame-up
restoration included body and paint, all chrome replated, stainless
polished, new interior and a detailed undercarriage. Additionally,
the engine and transmission were overhauled. New Firestone
whitewall tires were added. This car was purchased in 1958 from a
dealer in St. Louis, MO, and stayed in the same family until 2014,
when the new owner purchased it to restore. The car has 68,967
original miles (title reads mileage exempt). All existing sheet
metal and all parts were reused during its restoration. This
Studebaker includes the original sales order sheet, all receipts
for the purchase and factory order. European styling touches
abound; this Golden Hawk features a hood scoop with louvers, rear
fins with more louvers and silver machine-tuned dash with full
instrumentation.
