Vehicle Description
This is Serial #001 in the new series of Mr. Norm's continuation
vehicles, a 1971 Challenger Resto-Mod Series convertible. The new
owner's name will be added to the Original Mr. Norm's Grand
Spalding Registry. This Challenger was built using parts from other
Challengers, using the best of today's technology, merged with the
classic styling of the 1971 Dodge Challenger. No detail has been
left undone in its design and construction. Well over 2,500 hours
went into this the build. Powering the Challenger is a new Hellcat
707hp 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine. To ensure maximum performance
coupled with reliability, a Mopar Performance computer and wiring
system were used. All Mopar Performance accessory drive parts were
used on the front of the HEMI engine. This potent powerhouse
breathes easily thanks to TTI headers and exhaust, and is backed up
by a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. To maximize handling, it
utilizes a Detroit Speed and Engineering Aluma frame front
suspension and was engineered to fit and perform in this
Challenger. The Aluma frame bolts in and out of the car, and
features all DSE parts with single adjustable coilovers and a power
rack & pinion steering unit. The rear suspension is a Gerst 4-link
setup. It rides on 18" and 20" Rocket Racing wheels with new tires.
Over 400 man hours went into preparing the body of the Challenger
for the correct shade of Plum Crazy Purple, an authentic 1971 Mopar
High Impact color. Accenting the Plum Crazy paint are custom
Hellcat sabretooth tiger graphics that have been professionally
airbrushed. Modern base coat/clear coat paint that was color sanded
and buffed to a mirror finish. Additional features include a new
Hellcat-inspired grille insert, a Vintage Air system, large Wilwood
brakes, a Hydro-Boost master cylinder, Shaker hood,
high-performance radiator, high-performance supercharger cooling
system, a nice audio entertainment system, power canvas convertible
top, Auto Meter gauges, and a carbon-fiber pistol grip shifter
within the redone factory console. Due to engine compartment
modifications the cowl panel has been replaced. **VIN NOTICE: THIS
