Now you can own a well-maintained, rust-free, accident-free,
low-mileage, great-running 1986 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 2-Door Sport
Coupe. Powering this classic is a 305 CID 5.0 liter 4bbl V8.
This "dark red metallic" (aka maroon or burgundy) beauty, with gray
interior, resided in California as the daily commuter of my uncle
until 1992. Then he retired, moved to Missouri, and since then it
has been garaged and only occasionally driven. It has never been
driven in any snow, and has only accumulated 38k original miles.
And he was the sole owner, until I acquired it just a month ago and
drove it to Wisconsin. Never smoked in.
Standard features for this car were: Power Steering, Hatch Power
Pull-down, Aluminum Wheels, Sport Suspension, Rear Spoiler, Front
Air Dam, Bucket Front Seats, Folding Rear Seat.
Options that the owner added included: Power Locks, Tinted Glass,
Power Windows, Intermittent Wipers, Rear Defogger, Air Conditioning
(converted to R134A in 2015, and it works very well), Cruise
Control, Automatic with Overdrive, Tilt Steering Wheel.
I have the original sticker also, the original owners manual, and
maintenance booklet.
This Camaro has had all the factory recommended scheduled
maintenance performed throughout the years, and I have the receipts
and inspections to show that it has been well maintained (oil
filter, fuel filter, transmission, cooling system, lubrications).
And of course, the inspections performed in Missouri and California
require a vehicle to meet emissions and be safe. And the most
recent inspection was a 'Pass' in April 2018. The battery was
replaced in Feb 2018. Only about 12k miles on the showy Goodyear
Eagles.
Work performed on the car since it came into my possession, to
bring it up to "like-new" standards, includes a new radiator,
alternator, front hood struts, rear hatch struts, wiper blades,
windshield washer pump, brakes serviced, and a front end alignment
... so the Z28 is ready for everyday use again.
The interior is in great shape. The exterior is rust and dent-free,
with only minor paint chips that are expected from a low-mileage
survivor. The passenger side mirror could use some touchup (shown
in picture), but everything else should buff out.
And included are a GM engine code reader (which I used to
diagnose the faulty alternator), and a full size spare
tire. All the power windows and locks work perfectly, as does
the power hatch release. The glass is perfect ... no cracks or
pits.
The only thing that isn't working fully is the oil pressure
gauge. Replacing the oil sensor didn't fix that, so it must be an
intermittent gauge. So that's the only known issue with the
car, and it should be fixable.
Don't miss this opportunity to own this iconic 1986 Camaro
time-capsule today. The demand for these will only increase with
time, and particularly ones in this condition.
