Vehicle Description
To this day, the Ford Model A is one of the most recognizable cars
on the planet and with over 4.8 million units produced in nine
different body styles in its 4 year production period. It was
sporty, attractive, well-built, and smooth-running compared to the
Model T, which it replaced in the 1928 model year. Thousands of
people were eager to see for themselves that "Henry's made a lady
out of Lizzie," and they stormed Ford showrooms when the Model A
debuted on December 2, 1927. In less than two weeks there were
400,000 orders, and Henry Ford could not keep up with the demand
for his latest "gift" to an increasingly mobile nation. To this
day, Model A's are extremely popular and are often the basis for
some of the coolest hot rods roaming the streets!
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this awesome old school 1929
Ford Model A hotrod for your consideration. Built by its current
owner last year, this car features and all steel body sourced from
out west. The engine is a 239cid 1951 Mercury flathead V8. The
engine is said to have been completely rebuilt and features an
oversized 0.060 bore, 4in stroke and upgraded pistons. The engine
runs through a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive from a
1990's Ford F150 and it also runs a 9in rear end. There is a 5
gallon gas tank mounted behind the seats and the car is fully
converted to 12 volts. The red body is in great shape and it is
accented by a classic grill, dual exhausts, and alloy wheels. The
interior features grey vinyl seats as well as modern Ford truck
steering wheel and Autometer gauges. It also features a 12v starter
and electric fuel pump.
A hotrod is a unique vehicle on the road today and is often the
result of many hours of hard work by its owners. This hotrod is no
different and its unique flathead V8 and manual transmission help
it stand out!
