Vehicle Description
This Plymouth Valiant Signet convertible was produced in 1965 with
the optional LA 273ci V8 engine. In 1965 the Barracuda was a
fastback roof option and trim package for the Valiant. There was no
Barracuda convertible in 1965; only the Signet convertible and
nearly all parts on this car are interchangeable with the '65
Barracuda. This Signet convertible has been restored with original
matching-numbers body. The engine, automatic transmission,
suspension, rear end, dash, interior and trim, and as many parts
that could be restored to original condition. Two original Broadcast
Sheets were found in the seat and under the carpet of this car. The
two Broadcast Sheets, matching Fender Tag, stamped engine block,
stamped tag number on the core support and convertible bracing, and
VIN number confirm this 1965 Valiant Signet convertible came this
way from the factory. This has been a complete rotisserie
restoration, with every nut, bolt and part touched and rebuilt.
Many NOS parts and an original dash pad. The dash gauges and
instrument panel are restored originals, with rechromed plastic
bezels. Instrument Specialties, Inc., Legendary Interiors, Classic
Industries, Accurate Exhaust and Layson's are examples of the
products that went into this restoration, and a complete
spreadsheet list is included in the documents. This award-winning
car was a two-time winner of the Restored Convertible class at the
2015 and 2016 Auto Rama, winner of the ISCA Street Achievement
Award in 2016.
