Vehicle Description
The Ford Thunderbird hit the market in 1955 in was a direct
response to the Chevrolet Corvette. While the Corvette aimed to
impress with performance, the T-bird was all about style and
substance. Dubbed the first "personal car" by Ford, it was
described as a direct descendant of the bespoke 1930s roadsters and
was aimed as a brisk grand tourer. It was light for its era and the
powerful V8 could propel it to around 120 mph. The 1955 model
featured the proven 292cid Y-block V8 and had bumper mounted
exhausts and a trunk mounted spare tire.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this nice 1955 Thunderbird
for your consideration. The car is finished in Thunderbird Blue and
is quite eye catching. The paint is nice and the body is pretty
clean. There are some imperfections here and there. The chrome trim
is very nice and the car rides on factory hubcaps with whitewall
tires. A factory color matched hardtop is included as is a white
soft top. The interior features a two tone vinyl bench seats that
is nice. The dashboard is clean and original and the car is well
equipped with power steering, power bench seat, power windows, and
an automatic transmission.
The 292cid V8 runs well and the automatic transmission is smooth.
The car goes down the road very well and is a classic American road
icon.
