THE STORY BEHIND THIS 1987 CHEVROLET S10 PRO-TOURING DRAG
About a month ago, we had a beautiful 1965 Mustang Fastback on eBay and a gentleman called me (who really loved first generation Mustangs) and wanted to trade us two, high horsepower, pro-touring vehicles that he had been building ... Which ... Were virtually all complete except for their interiors. It turned out that both cars were a project of a:
"Father, Son and Brother Relationship"
And were a labor of family love ... And ... Good old-fashioned high octane need for speed!! Well ... The father had a heart attack and passed away ... And ... Then the brother became ill and also passed away. The gentleman who called me simply stated that he was emotionally unable to complete either project and wanted to buy our Mustang simply to move on.
I loved the story since the official name of our business is:
"Father, Son & Daughter LLC"
Which is my son Joshua, my daughter Loreanna and I working together as a family (you can learn more about our story and see our family picture at the end of this listing). The untold part of our story is: ... My wife (and their mother) became ill about 4 years ago and I stayed home to take her the last year of her life. Being a retired Honda automobile dealership owner, I always loved cars ... So ... While taking care of her, I started buying a few classics to list on eBay. My son took the pictures and we did everything together. Eventually, my daughter joined us ... And ... It is now our full-time family business ...and ... We are now (in 2 1/2 years) close to selling:
500 classic cars and hot rods ... Through eBay.
Now ... Back to the 1987 S10. This little truck is all motor!!! It is a 383 stroker bored out to 388 with Summit Racing heads and everything you could add for more horsepower (450 without NOS). You see ... The father member of the build team (in his younger years) was a very successful race car and dragster driver / builder, and really knew what was important in a pro-touring build to make it comfortable on the street or the race track.
