Excellent example of a 1983 Dodge Shelby Charger w/ 8,000 original miles. For 1983, Carroll Shelby modified the Dodge Charger, to be sold at Dodge dealers as the Dodge Shelby Charger. Rather than focusing on speed, Shelby modified the suspension and styling. The engine compression was raised for 107 HP and the manual transmission had revised ratios. Shorter springs, special wheels, and tires complemented stronger brakes and a quicker, 14:1, power steering rack. Outside, a new nose and racing stripes accented the performance image. It also received a free-flowing exhaust system, making for a more aggressive sound. The body kits, among other parts, were often shipped to dealerships along with the car to be put on after delivery. Production was 8,251 for that first year. This car was ordered brand new on April 18, 1983 at Smith-Relyea Chrysler-Plymouth located in Springfield, VT by Mr. Robert Aumand who lived in Springfield, VT. He took delivery on June 22, 1983. The car was ordered in Santa Fe Blue and Radiant Silver with Silver and Blue interior. It was ordered with the light group, protection group, cold weather group, rear tonneau cover, air conditioning, glass sunroof, automatic speed control and am-fm stereo radio. Rustproofing was also purchased and completed by dealership prior to delivery. This car was a one owner car until 2015 and has spent its entire life in New England. It’s always been garaged and well cared for. It has tons of original documentation that is included. The original documentation includes the order form, bill of sale, title, window sticker, owner’s manuals, warranty manuals, sales brochures, registrations, license plates and photos. The glove box was signed by Carroll Shelby and the Certificate of Authenticity is included. The car is powered by the original 2.2L 4cyl engine with 5-speed transmission. This car was recently serviced which is documented by an invoice that is included. Everything is in working order including the clock. This great looking car runs and drives fantastic.
