Description
The second generation Buick Skylark was produced from 1968-1972. This 1970 Buick Skylark was purchased brand new at Poirier Buick located in Fall River, Massachusetts on January 2, 1970. It’s remained in Fall River, Massachusetts its entire life and is a two owner car. The car has original documentation that includes the dealership pre-delivery service and check sheet, bill of sale, sales tax forms, warranty card and owner’s manuals. This car was purchased from the original owner by the second owner 17 years ago. The car was original and a beautiful survivor. During the time of ownership the second owner decided to have the car restored. He wanted to slightly customize it rather than restore it to factory specifications. It retains all the original sheet metal. The exterior body is straight and it has nice gap lines throughout. A Buick GSX hood, front spoiler, rear spoiler and mirrors were added to give it a sportier appearance. The car was originally green and painted a beautiful blue metallic. The color of this car is striking especially with the black accents. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced and the rear glass was tinted. The car sits on Boyd Coddington 17” wheels that were painted black to match the accents. The wheels are wrapped with BF Goodrich G-Force tires. The Pearl White interior is mostly original and complements the exterior color perfectly. The bucket seats give it sporty feel. It’s equipped with factory front and rear seats, power windows and air conditioning. The air conditioning isn’t in working order. Some interior upgrades include a Grant GT steering wheel, Autometer Sport Comp gauges and B&M shifter with floor console. It has a custom sound system that consists of a Premier stereo unit, Kenwood amplifier, Infinity kicker panel speakers, Infinity rear deck speakers and a Diamond subwoofer box located in the trunk. The trunk compartment is in beautiful condition with a trunk mat and spare tire cover. The engine compartment is clean and home to the original Buick 350 V8. This engine was rebuilt during the restoration with some high performance internal parts. It runs and sounds great. Some upgrades include a Poston S Divider B-350 intake, Demon carburetor, K&N air filter, Buick A-Performance valve covers, MSD ignition, Taylor wires, chrome alternator and Optima red top battery. The engine breathes out Hooker headers and a Flow Master 2 ½ exhaust system that sounds sweet. The engine is coupled to the Turbo 350 transmission that shifts very nicely. It’s equipped with power steering and power brakes. The undercarriage was undercoated at the dealership when it was new which is documented on the original bill of sale. During the restoration the undercarriage was cleaned and presents itself very nicely. This car was recently serviced and detailed. This is a great looking, running and driving car that the new owner will truly enjoy.
