The 993 Generation of 911 is heralded for being the last of its' kind as the model was the last air cooled 911 built before the next generation 996 was released and introduced water cooling. The significance of the 993 though is not in the cooling system but rather the overall character of the model. The 993 is one of the rare instances where the driving experience lives up to the hype. The fit and finish of these cars is outstanding.The cars feel light and responsive while the gear shits are perfectly weighted, with a short satisfying throw. The motor makes a familiar, glorious howl. The engine is strong and pulls progressively throughout the rev-range. All the systems inside the car feel modern despite the 993 being the last of the old generation of cars. The 993 is recognized for being the "sweet spot in the 911 half century of existence".
The car we have on offer here is a three owner, California car its whole life. With just a tick over 35,000 miles, this example has clearly been someone's well cared for weekender. The Guards Red paint has held up very well over the years with a rich shine and very little evidence of road wear. The interior is equally well preserved, the tan leather seats have a lovely patina going that is befitting a vintage German automobile. The carpets and dash belie their age. The motor is strong and clean. The car pulls well from just off idle all the way up to redline. This 993 sits on staggered 17" Porsch Cup wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S 02A's size 205/50/17 up front and 255/40/17 in back. The car does have an aftermarket Alpine head unit.
