Vehicle Description
Trucks were pretty "plain Jane" until Chevy came out with the Cameo in 1955. Ford "one-upped" Chevy in 1957 with the introduction of the first "car-truck" utility vehicle, The Ranchero. Chevy was quick to follow with the introduction of the El Camino in 1959. Ford only produced about a half million Ranchero's from 1957 sporadically until 1979.
This special example was recently purchased by the seller for his wife to use on "the Farm". He had it totally sorted out including installation of Air Conditioning, seat belts, Vintage radio, and a GPS-enabled factory speedometer. Now, of course, it's too nice to use on the Farm. Factory options include V-8, 3-speed stick shift with working overdrive, and power steering. Tounneau cover and dual exhaust, too. Very nice finish in an original color scheme of Flame Red and Colonial White with new matching interior. Very nice chrome and wide whitewall tires complete the package. This car is a great driver than can easily cruise at highway speeds and is plenty nice for shows as well.
