For Sale: 1964 Mercedes-Benz 220SE in Holliston, Massachusetts
Low Mileage Survivor with 56k Original miles, Great Driver Quality
1964 Mercedes-Benz 220SE Coupe featured in stunning Red (DB516)
with Beige Leather Interior. The W111 Coupe was first introduced in
March of 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show. Consequently, it was the
same show that Jaguar introduced the new "E" Type. Although the
E-Type stole all the thunder from the show, sales of the new W111
coupe were strong and the waiting list turned quickly into over a
year. The classic W111 coupes were all hand built and production
ran from 1961 though 1971.
This particular 220SE was first ordered and delivered by Arthur
Lessard & Sons Inc. for Captain Edward F. Jewell of "The Anchorage"
in Meredith, New Hampshire. According the original window sticker,
still in the books, Original MSRP was $8,247.82. Options ordered
include: Burl Wood, Leather Seats and Door Panels, Becker-Europa
AM-FM, Windshield Washer System, and Automatic Transmission. The
patina on this car is one of a well taken care of survivor as the
wood, the leather, the carpets, the chrome, the engine compartment,
and most of the paint are original. There is not rust or rot on the
vehicle. Mechanically we just finished sorting it out including a
new timing chain, full tune up with a new spark plug wire set, new
subframe mounts, engine mounts, transmission mount, tie rods, all
four brake hoses, brake flush, and an alignment.
The vehicle comes with documentation, original books, and tool
kit.
