For Sale: 1951 Chevrolet Deluxe in Conroe, Texas

Vehicle Description

1951 Chevy Deluxe Coupe: Chevrolet overhauled its entire lineup in 1949, moving from prewar designs to brand new cars with modern full-width bodies and pontoon fenders. The division offered Special and Deluxe models in both Fleetline and Styleline series. Buyers could buy a bare bones business coupe for as little as $1,300, or could pony up $2,200 for an eight-passenger station wagon. Virtually every body type and price level was offered in between. Chevy took a breather in 1951 and made few changes, though the Fleetline fastback body style was phased out. Model year production was down slightly to 1.3 million units, with only a fifth being the basic Special series. In a trend that would continue through to the present day, buyers increasingly turned towards the automatic transmission—nearly 50% of cars sold were equipped with Powerglide.

Beside some great 50's styling, very little of this custom ride has been left original. If you are looking for an unique head-turner, this 1951 Chevy may be the best new addition to your garage. In 2011 this frame-off restoration started with a powder-coated/painted frame which was followed by several custom upgrades. The top was chopped 5 inches, the rear fenders were extended, custom fender skirts were fabricated, and Ford LTD tail lights were installed. The front end received '55 Chevy Headlights, custom parking lights, a molded '54 Buick grill, and the hood was sectioned 2 inches. Under the hood, the original engine was replaced with a built '54 Chevy Inline 6 and a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. An electric fan and aluminum radiator were also installed to prevent overheating on long weekend cruises. Further mechanical upgrades include a Mustang front-end with airbags and disc brakes and a '57 Chevy rear end. Once assembly was complete, the body was treated to a stunning Aztec Gold and complimented with a Cool Cream roof. The interior was nicely finished in white vinyl with bucket seats and plenty of room for 5 passengers. Additional features and options include; Chrome Bumpers, Chrome Mirrors, Center Console Storage, Floormats, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Tilt Steering, Tire Tools, Spare Tire, 15" Factory Hubcaps, and Firestone Wide Whitewall Bias-Ply Tires!
