Vehicle Description
1965 International D1300 1 Ton 4x4 Pickup
Nothing says power like one of these classic International pickups.
These things were the work force of America at one point being used
in many different commercial applications. This 65 International
D1300 has retired but from new it was a Brush Fire truck used along
the West Coast. The current owner has had the truck for 10 years
and the previous owner purchased it directly from the state after
it was decomissioned. It has since been given a good home and had a
lot of work done to freshen it up. There is no other way to say it,
this thing is a beast! Not only does it just look tough but you can
tell when driving it that this 1 ton 4x4 was built to work. It only
has 12,728 miles on it which makes sense when you consider it was
only driven when needed. The water tanks have been removed but the
PTO system is still in place. It is painted in a nice Red paint and
although these things didn't feature a lot of fancy trim it does
have a great looking chrome front grill. The heavy duty Black
bumpers with grill guard keep both ends protected and we guarantee
that if you rear end someone or they rear end you this pickup is
coming out on top. It has a front winch set up that functions
properly and comes in handy more than you would anticipate. You can
operate it from inside and outside of the truck plus it runs off
the motor. It also has a brake locking system that you can engage
on the dash to lock all the wheels so the truck doesn't move an
inch when winching. Military wheels have been added (37x12.5R16.5)
with lock out hubs and tires that have plenty of life left in
them.
The original motor was a smaller cubic inch but an entirely rebuilt
392 V8 has been added in its place. There are less than 1,000 miles
on the motor and it runs strong. It has a performance cam, 750 cfm
double pumper carb, Mallory Unilite distributor, ported/polished
heads and custom 3 inch headers that lead to a custom exhaust.
Backing up the motor is a 4 speed manual transmission that shifts
well. These original came with 2 batteries but only 1 is installed
currently. The set up to switch between the batteries is in place
and also acts as a kill switch when the truck isn't being used.
The interior is simple and what you would expect for this kind of
truck. It features a cloth bench seat, Black door panels and
everything else is painted. There are a lot of different systems in
place you wouldn't see on the dash of your normal car like the lock
out controls, winch control knob, transfer case controls and more.
It does have it's original radio which is about the only luxury
item type thing you will find on it, and we mean that in a good
way!
This truck is all business and just a really cool piece of
automotive history. Whether you are looking to go off roading or
just want the toughest thing on the street this thing is up to the
task.
This is a lot of truck for only $22,500.00!
