With only 3,500 miles on this extremely custom Blazer, it is ready
to tackle any obstacle put in its way! This Blazer is sitting on a
set of massive 39.5" Super Swamper mud tires that will dig through
or up just about anything and are connected to axles tough enough
to take it. Up front is a built-up Dana 60 and out back is a
14-Bolt GM axle that are both equipped with 4.88:1 locker
differentials. Connecting the two axles is a 205 transfer case that
are well recognized in the off roading community for their
toughness and durability. In order to turn these big wheels and
axles, this truck needed a power house of an engine so the builder
opted for a 454 cubic inch big block Chevrolet equipped with fuel
injection for easy tuning and added efficiency. Sitting right
behind the engine is a 700R4 transmission giving you an overdrive
gear that is much needed when running a 4.88:1 ratio. The steering
in the truck was equipped with more heavy duty steering components
provided through PSC and is equipped with hydraulic assist. The HD
tie rods were run above the axles to keep them out of the way of
any obstacles. Despite all the work that has gone into making this
truck durable, the body from 1971 has been kept straight and clean.
The front fenders were radiused to clear the large tires during
heavy flexing in the suspension and aftermarket bumpers installed
front and rear for durability and a tough appearance. This Blazer
has many thousands of dollars into the build and, if you have been
thinking about doing a similar build, this is a much better route
to go as it will save you time and money in the long run. This is a
great truck for someone who is looking for a turn key trail rig or
someone just looking to have fun with their buddies on the weekend.
