1973 Volkswagen Beetle. I purchased the beetle in 1976 from a
dealer in Atlanta (relatively rust-free part of the country). It
showed 75,000 miles. I have owned it since then and it now has
95,000 miles. During that time it has had a paint job, new
interior, new steering linkage, new brake drums, a rebuilt engine
and transmission. I use it rather sparingly, as a tow vehicle
behind our motor home. I have a Blue Ox four-down towing rig and
have disconnected the steering wheel lock and installed a plug-in
wire for connecting lights. This is and ideal car for towing.
