The Ford F Series has become a byword for toughness, durability,
and overall work horse nature. The sixth generation truck hit the
market in 1973 and featured an all new style as well as significant
mechanical improvements. This generation is noted for the body
panels' durability as Ford used extensive amounts of galvanized
sheet metal, zinc coated steel, zinc rich primer and fender liners,
to fight corrosion. In 1976, the F-Series became the best-selling
trucks in America, a position it has continued to retain ever
since.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this classic 1978 Ford F-100
for your consideration. This special truck has been with the same
family since new and was passed down from father to son a few years
ago. Finished in classic black with unique red and purple flames,
this truck is cool and period correct. Other exterior modifications
include rear soft tonneau cover, alloy wheels with Cooper Cobra
tires, side steps, front bull bar, and rear steel bumper. The body
is very solid and the paint is nice. The interior features a red
theme with a custom seat cover over the factory red. The interior
is clean and straightforward, and it features a compass and
Panasonic radio. The red dash, door cards, and trim really pop when
seen with the black exterior.
Fitted with a simple and reliable 302cid V8 engine mated to a
smooth automatic transmission, this truck is dependable. The
current owners claim that the odometer has rolled over just once
since new. Other important features include front disc brakes,
power steering, and power brakes. A solid, period correct truck
with all of the right ingredientes, it is ready to work and
play.
