Vehicle Description
We can tell there was a lot invested in making this 1969 Pontiac
GTO Judge look so good. Restored to correct colors and retaining
its and the original 400ci V8 and four-speed, it's handsome, fast,
comfortable, and intimidating... all the elements that make the GTO
a timeless legend.
The subtle Mayfair Maize on this hardtop gives it sophisticated
first impression. This factory-correct color was expertly
re-applied during the coupe's frame-off restoration to give it an
amazingly deep shine. The body panels remain straight; the
form-fitting rear chrome bumper is mirror-like; and the Endura
front bumper continues to look correct & color-matched. So it's a
terrific total package that holds up to the extra scrutiny. In
fact, this one really is for those who love up-close details. For
example, this real-deal Judge's stripe package looks distinctive in
black from a distance. But as you get closer, detail oriented
people will marvel at the white and yellow outline that makes the
black really pop even more. More than just a distinct package, a
powerful GTO like this has all the right intimidating pieces. The
Ram Air hood scoops, large rear spoiler, and Rally II wheels with
the PMD (Pontiac Motor Division) center cap reminds everyone that
this Judge rules the streets.
The factory-correct black bucket seat interior is quite inviting
with nicely detailed seat covers that showcase the
always-interesting Pontiac design motif. Plus, the wood grain
paneling on the dash furthers this upscale feeling. This restored
classic is meant to feel like a time machine, so even the AM radio
is still cranking out tunes! You get the Pontiac three-spoke
steering wheel, and just ahead of that is a tri-pod round gauge
design with the speedometer prominently in the middle. Are you
looking for the tach? It's out on the hood for a classic element
that also provides a true head-up experience. And that goes
particularly well with the Hurst T-handle shifter.
One look at the 400-cubic inch V8, and you're again reminded this
GTO is all about honesty and originality. It wears the correct
Pontiac Turquoise paint with pride, and it sports a chrome valve
covers (after all, Pontiac knew its customers would be showing off
their engine bay.) Even the diaphragm around the Ram Air intake
looks crisp. Best of all, this 1969-correct WS block is the
original motor. It inhales deeply through a four-barrel carburetor,
and the sweet rumble of the dual exhaust let's everyone know you
have serious power under the hood. You have complete control over
this powerhouse and its soundtrack thanks to the original Muncie
four-speed manual transmission. As you pour though all the details,
you're going find components that come up year-correct - and likely
original. This includes everything from the heads on the motor, to
the rear end. And so the result is a clean and detailed restored
package that has a real eye for originality.
