restorationClassic Car Club of America (CCCA) Full Classic
Produced in Rochester, New York, form 1915 until 1931, the
Cunningham was one of the U.S.'s finest luxury automobiles. Each
was hand-built to individual customer order and specifications, and
powered by a robustly constructed and superbly engineered V-8 with
a three-main-bearing crankshaft, fully pressurized lubrication, and
pumped radiator cooling, all as advanced at the end of production
as it had been at the beginning. It was an outstanding, prestigious
automobile, and it deserves a place in any Full Classic
connoisseur's collection.
The handsome touring offered here, one of very few Cunninghams to
ever become available on the public market, has been part of its
current owner's collection for several years. While research into
its history is still ongoing, it reportedly participated in the
1967 Glidden Tour, and wears a plaque testifying that its
restoration was completed by the renowned Gus Reuter, one of this
country's first antique automobile restorers, noted for the
superlative quality of its work. Solid and intact, the car would be
immensely impressive either freshened as a driver, or as the basis
for a full restoration of a grand and immensely rare Classic. To
