1978 PONTIAC TRANS AM SOLAR GOLD! Restored with all new brakes, brake lines, and stainless exhaust system. Originally a 400, It has received a period-correct Pontiac 455 HO. The engine has been rebuilt with a more aggressive camshaft and long-tube headers, producing at least 375 HP. The Turbohydramatic 400 transmission has been rebuilt with a shift kit and a B & M quick silver ratchet-action shifter correctly fitted factory center console. The rear end is a 3.42 safe-t-track (Pontiac's name for posi-traction) with all new axle bearings and seals. It has a new 4 core-radiator to accommodate added HP. The exterior virtually flawless paint and body, deep lustrous shine, all decals, trim and chrome are like brand new--a real head turner everywhere it goes. PERFECTLY RUST FREE in, out and under--a tribute to it's being built in dry Van Nuys, California, and spending most of it's life in dry Las Vegas, NV. The seats, carpet, door panel, headliner are all 100% original and in beautiful condition--no rips or tears! Look like less than 2 years old, not 40 years old! Even the factory original trunk mat, floor jack and vintage space-saver spare are there in the rust-free trunk and in good shape! It has factory A/C converted to R134, power steering, power brakes (disk front/drum rear), and perfect original 'snowflake' rims with all new tires. 1977-78 are the iconic, ultra-collectable 'Bandit' Trans Am years everyone desires. This 'Bandit gold edition' has won several shows, looks stunning, sounds mean and drives great (nice, flat cornering!). It has 41000 original miles and only a little than 2000 miles since the rebuild in 2003.
