Vehicle Description
1962 Ford Galaxie 2dr.Sedan 67k Original miles A true 'Barn Find',
but in a dry building in Moody, AL. brought in from Wyoming (no
salt)20-25 years ago. Factory ordered 352/2v-3 speed/ Overdrive
(works) and a 356 Rear end! Has/had two 2' rust (through) spots
(one fixed and cut-out saved to show) at bottom of front fenders
AND THAT IS IT ON THE WHOLE CAR ! Floors, trunk, hood-door bottoms
and deck lips (foldovers), are excellent as are wheel wells, body
mounts, rockers and inner fenders. All are rust free. The 67,712
miles is REAL. The car was started from time to time, brakes done,
dual exhaust and 4 new radials (Zero miles) when someone decided to
start stripping the original red paint and got about 1/2 done and
stopped? The right passenger door has a 'wow' that a body man could
fix in a few hours. I would just leave it. The quarters are
perfectly straight and wheel wells never cut for larger tires. All
trim is good and bumpers will clean up good. They have some dings
but not bad for a 56 year old car. We thought about shooting a
primer paint job, but many people think you are trying to hide
something that way. I'm 76, had HUNDREDS of cars and I would just
'Clear-coat' it and drive as-is or make a 406 'look alike Sleeper'
out of it. It had all new tune up parts, but had a miss. Upon
checking, one cylinder had 'O' compression and all others 150-155
or so. Apparently one valve stuck and bent and they gave up on the
'resto'. Enter the 'Y' Block (and FE) 'Guru', Jerry Ponder to do a
valve job (cylinders are excellent) to get it 'purring like a
kitten'. Engine has the original air-cleaner, fuel filter,
generator end cover and even the original 'FoMoCo' washer bag.
Starts right up, runs-shifts and stops GREAT (NO shift linkage
play). -Vehicle is on consignment and at our clients home -Please
