Vehicle Description
1938 DeSoto Business Coupe barn find from the 1990's. It is
finished in the teal and hot pink colors of the Miami Vice era. It
appears to have been built as a show car in Texas in the early
1990's. We do not have much history on the car, but here is what we
know. The engine is a 403 Oldsmobile/Pontiac engine from an early
80's Trans Am. The suspension, steering, air conditioning, cooling,
brakes, as well as both front and rear frame sections are from the
same Trans Am. The body started as a 1938 DeSoto Business Coupe. It
has been heavily modified with a 1937 Ford grille, 1990's Lincoln
headlights, Miata door handles, suicide doors, frenched mirrors,
custom taillights, and a custom interior. It has been lowered and
lengthened. The car has working lights, high beams, wipers, turn
signals, third brake light, and seat belts. The tilt steering
column and power windows are from a 1980's Cadillac. The hood is
fiberglass but the remainder of the car is steel. The body and
paint present very well but have some minor blemishes in a couple
of areas. After acquiring the car we replaced the starter,
carburetor, and battery, rebuilt the windshield wipers, drained and
cleaned the fuel tank and fuel system, replaced the tires and
wheels, rebuilt the brakes, and changed the fluids. The car drives
well and can be used daily if desired. This is a beautiful car that
gets looks wherever it goes. It will need some freshening if you
want it to be a high quality show car. It is a driver quality car
now. -Vehicle is on consignment and at our clients home -Please
