1949 Ford Custom Sedan 'Shoebox Ford' Drive a piece of history-
mechanically sound and only needs basic cosmetic restoration. The
doors and door handles are all still functional. The dash area must
have seemed very futuristic when this sedan debuted, with the large
dial of its speedometer sitting just above the row of control
switches. All that refinement this 49 offers came with no loss of
trunk space - there's a lot of it surrounding the area were the
full size spare would sit. You won't see much in life that's gone
through nearly seven decades before emerging in the impressive
condition shown by this Ford's drivetrain. The original 3.7L/226
CID L-head straight-6 starts right up and, remains fully capable of
real-world driving around town with NO LEAKS. The car has its
original 3-speed manual transmission and features a pull-handle
activated overdrive gear whose first use will take you back in
time. A look below at the solid undercarriage will reveal yet
another feature that was revolutionary for its time: a ladder-style
steel frame that carries a fully-independent front suspension. The
windshield, rear window, and the 2 back seat windows have all been
recently replaced and the replacement rubber seals come with the
car. There is a crack in the driver's side roll down window. STOCK
