Vehicle Description
1970 Volkswagen Beetle VW Bug Rare tourist vacation , 3rd owner.
Speedo shows 13,855 but early VW's had no digit for 100K. Turn the
clock back to the early 70's and this is the condition of VW
everyone, who appreciated the Beetle, looked for. Tourists
vacationing in Germany could buy a package vacation deal that
included a Volkswagen bug to travel around Europe. After the tour
of Europe, the bug would be shipped back to the United States, from
Germany to Long Beach (Comes with framed German paperwork). Car is
in excellent condition. Rebuilt engine & transmission. Newly
rebuilt Griffins front end with new disc brakes. New interior. VDO
tach, volt meter, oil pressure and oil temperature gauges included.
New windshield. Original German bumpers recently triple chrome
plated and bumper brackets powder coated. Never been in an
accident. As you can imagine, the original color red paint oxidizes
if not occasionally buffed. For those you you wanting to have a
perfect paint job, you would consider having it painted. I actually
prefer the red oxidized paint look so I have not buffed or waxed.
The picture showing the shinny paint is from 2014. The engine was
newly rebuilt (2014) 2 liter (78x90mm). Valve size is 37x42.
Compression ratio is 8:1. Aluminum push rods. Vanagon rocker arms.
