Vehicle Description
1960 Volvo PV544 The interior utilizes the stock seat frames
dressed in black felt-like cloth and vinyl with bright red piping
and stitching. The dash sports a custom vinyl dash pad that match
the seats with custom gauges set in Alder-wood and in dash mounted
air vents. The power train has less than 3,000 miles and is all
Volvo with a many upgrades. The engine is a Highly Modified B20
crate engine coupled to a Volvo M41 Four Speed Transmission and
drives a PV544 Rear End. This combination of components has enough
power to smoke the rear wheels all the way through 1st and 2nd
gears as was captured on video at a local asphalt track on its
first outing. No! I do not race this car. I was asked to
light-em-up at a car show and to my surprise: It Did! An absolute
blast to drive at any speed. Around town it is a dream to drive at
city speed limits. On the highway the Modified B20 Engine really
comes to life. When I feel like having a bit-of-fun, I use a full
throttle shift point of 6,900 rpm while the 12' Glass-Pac thunders
a 119 DB meter reading at the rear of the car. And, at that engine
speed it still wants to rev up more (This car has won loudest
exhaust award at a car show in both open and closed exhaust
systems). On the other end of the rpm range the exhaust note is
pleasant and easy on the ears at city speed limits. At 65 mph no
down shift needed to pass a car on a 2 lane highway. Mash the gas
to the floor and the dual 38 Weber Carburetor responds instantly to
accelerate to over 90 mph before you pull out of the passing lane
with just enough room to not cut off the car you are passing. I do
not know what the top speed is at this juncture, but, it is geared
for 127 mph with a stock engine at 6,000 rpm. -Vehicle is on
