Vehicle Description
1949 Dodge 2 dr Sedan Cool old car. Titled as a 49 even though this
model production ended in 48. Chrysler was on strike in 49 so this
48 was sold new as a 49. Its been sitting. Barn find. Last run a
couple yrs ago. It ran like a sewing machine then. A few yrs back I
had all new brakes, shocks, and charging system rebuilt. I had
original generator rebuilt. Then the accelerator pump in the
carburetor went out and it sat. I finally put a kit in the carb and
haven't even started it yet. I'm sure it will with a little
coaxing. Body is solid. Interior needs TLC. I started removing old
seat covers. Original seat cloth was underneath but pretty stained.
It sat in an elderly ladies 1 car leaning garage for many many
years till I bought it several yrs back after she passed away. I
only drove it once and here it sits. It drove great! 3 speed on
column. Has an ultra reliable in the day flathead 6. only 48 k mi.
A favorite engine in the day for taxi cabs. -Vehicle is on
