Vehicle Description
1979 Chevrolet El Camino Super Sport 27,000 mile and yes the
mileage is verified by both title and service records. This is a
99% original rust free car. This is a 350/350 Turbo, power
steering, power brakes, cruise control A.C car. The car spent its
early years in a small town in Oklahoma so has never been driven in
snow or salt and is rust free. Put another way, this car ain't got
NO rust at all, anywhere! The original owner drove the car very
sparingly over the years. Sometime around 2006 when the car had
only about 25K miles he decided that the factory 350 (5.7 litre and
this IS an 'L Code' car!) was a little anemic for his taste so he
hotrodded a bit. He equipped the car with an Edelbrock Performer
intake, an Edelbrock Performer carb and Edelbrock chrome valve
covers. While he was at it he added dual exhaust with glass packs
and chrome exhaust tips so the car has a pleasant rumble at speed
and if ya wanna crack the pipes it'll sure so it! The car was
stored and only very occasionally driven but for the most part
remained in dry storage under about four tarps. When current owner
got the car the AC was not working, so took it to a shop a few
blocks away and had the system repaired and converted to R134A so
it now blows icy cold. replaced the thermostat because the gasket
was weeping. Speaking to the Super Sport decals; they are in
excellent condition along with the factory applied striping around
the wheel wells. The front air dam, an exclusive feature of the
Super Sport is in perfect condition and has never been run into
parking lot blocks. The main flaw in the body is on the tailgate to
the left and below of the license plate where the original owner
evidently bumped something. The interior is nearly perfect with no
cracking in the dash but for some reason has some very tiny cracks
on top of the shroud surrounding the radio. Al gauges work fine
including the SS tachometer. The steering wheel which is a tilt
column is in excellent condition, much more.
