1961 Chevrolet C10 Apache shortbed pickup, 327/300 4 speed. 1961
Chevy Apache pickup,C10,2WD, SHORTbed fleetside. (titled as a 1962
since new) No option, base model truck. 60 & 61's are very
desirable right now with wrap around windshield and 'eyes or pods'
in the hood front, but this can easily be changed to a 63-66 hood
if you prefer that cleaner look. This one is Era correct in so many
ways, from the tachometer to the 8 track under the glove box. And-
wait until you see what's underhood. An Original (not to this
truck)1962 327/300 HP engine & BW 4 speed trans from an Impala(RB
code on engine & NOT a truck granny 4 speed). Engine & trans are
untouched original from the Carter carb & Delco distributor down to
the oil pan, rare correct year valve covers and 2.5' rams horn
exhaust manifolds. If you are looking for a truck to slam, and put
an LS into then this ISN'T your truck. The engine & trans in this
truck are worth as much as the truck itself. That's why I want the
good money for it. Still fires right up, and runs well on Premium
gas.(factory 10:1 compression) I don't mind patina, but I draw the
line at Mold, I gave the truck it's first bath since being stored
25 years ago. I put nice 8' rally wheels on it with good used
tires. This truck would look much better if quickly sanded, and put
in shiny black primer, it's even fairly straight. Truck was
originally Woodlands green. Truck is very solid underneath,
including the floors, all supports & mounts. No rot in bed or
tailgate, and no signs of bondo. BAD=The bed wood is completely
gone, but the strips are there, and the inner bed lips(flanges) are
NOT rotted out. Bed floor is an Easy fix with diamond plate or
original wood slats are available, but I'll let new owner decide.
Left door window is cracked.----
