WHEN NEW. PHS SHOWS IT WAS ORIGINALLY SHIPPED FROM A CHARLESTON,WV
DEALER TO HURST FOR CONVERSION . THE ORDER SHEET SHOWS THIS BUT NOT
SIGNED OFF BY HURST RESEARCH. THE PREVIOUS OWNER BOUGHT THIS IN THE
DALLAS AREA IN 1976 WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE AND KEPT IT FOR 40 YEARS,
AND NOW AVAIALBALE FOR SALE FOR THE FIRST TIME. ONE OTHER
DOCUMENTED SILVER SSJ WAS BUILT FOR HURST'S ACCOUNTANT BUT DID NOT
HAVE THE 2 TONE PAINT. THIS ONE WAS PROBABLY USED BY GEORGE HURST .
THE COLOR COMBINATION WAS HIS FAVORITE. JUST LIKE THE '68
HURST/OLDS. THIS IS THE ONLY SSJ PAINTED LIKE THIS OUT OF A TOTAL
PRODUCTION OF 52. MOST WERE WHITE/GOLD OR BLACK/GOLD. THIS CAR IS
TURN KEY. IT STARTS RIGHT UP AND RUNS GOOD AND DRIVES. OFF THE ROAD
FOR 26 YEARS IN GEORGIA. IT IS A LOADED CAR . IT ALSO HAS A VERY
RARE HURST AUTO STICK AUTOMATIC SHIFTER HOOKED UP TO THE ORIGINAL
TH400 TRANSMISSION. THIS TRANSMISSION HAS THE SMALLER 11' TORQUE
CONVERTER. IT ALSO HAS THE ORIGINAL 3.07 12 BOLT HD POSI AXLE. THE
ORIGINAL ENGINE WAS BLOWN UP IN THE EARLY 1980'S AND WAS NOT
BUILDABLE. THE PREVIOUS OWNER PUT A LOW MILEAGE '77 TRANS AM 400
ENGINE AT THE TIME AND THAT IS STILL UNDER THE HOOD. THE ORIGINAL
DIST. , INTAKE, EXH. MANIFOLDS WERE USED FROM THE 455. THIS CAR IS
MOSTLY SOLID BUT DOES HAVE SOME RUST. IT IS NOT ALL ROTTED OUT.
SOLID DOORS AND MOST OPTIONS ARE FUNCTIONAL. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN A
