Starting in 1977 Cadillac offered as an option the AstroRoof in the
Eldorado that was a SunRoof MoonRoof combination, meaning the car
had an interior head panel that when opened revealed a tinted glass
roof panel so you could enjoy limited sunshine without burning your
head off, as is the problem with just a standard sunroof. Moreover,
The motorized tinted glass panel when opened had full open
unobstructed sky view and was particularly enjoyable in the
evenings when crusing the sunset strip,..hence the term moon roof
or Astro Roof.
