Vehicle Description
It's not a fully restored show car but it looks great. Really, it
is a very solid car, great foundation. The 59 Caddy is one of the
most iconic car designs of all times. It won the tallest fins
award!
EXTERIOR: I'm going to start in back because that's obviously the
highlight of this car. All the chrome is very shiny and looks great
from a few feet away, up close still looks good but not new. The
anodized bullets and trim are in great shape. Side moldings are
excellent, stainless trim around roof and windows is very nice.
Upfront chrome is all very good too. Body looks good. I didn't
notice any damage or rust. Paint is very presentable, no
significant issues. The wire wheels and big radial whitewalls are
beautiful, both are new. Cost is $3,500 for a set of these tires
and wheels.
INTERIOR: This car has the original upholstery. Genuine leather
trim with the black cloth is in overall excellent condition. Door
panels are very nice, headliner is excellent. The instrument panel
controls are in nice shape, nothing broken or missing. All of the
dash pads warped or split on a 59 Caddy, this one does have a
plastic cap.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine bay was painted white, the motor has
a nice fresh coat of blue paint right down to the oil pan.
Everything looks proper- wires, stock air cleaner etc.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid, has carpet liner and spare.
UNDERSIDE: It's not prettied up, ready for the prom but it is rock
solid and proper. The floors, inner rockers and 1/4s appear to be
original clean metal. It still has the lityle rubber flaps over the
drain holes. New shocks, air shocks in back. Dual exhaust is very
good.
Bottom line, it's a '59 Caddy! It is gorgeous and will not just
turn heads but, snap necks! Drive it as is and be proud. It won't
win 1st place from the judges but very good chance it will win
people's choice.
