Original Owner Was A High School Home Ec Teacher from Long Beach
This car has been in my family since it was first purchased in 1962 by my grandmother, a Southern Californian home economics high school teacher.
When she passed it went to her son. He restored the it in the 80’s. Until his death he drove and actively maintained the car. It was a fully drivable vehicle up until it was taken apart for a new restoration. The engine was rebuilt, out of the car on a custom stand but running, and being fine-tuned and tinkered with when my uncle passed. The restoration process came to a complete halt.
I figured that with my elbow grease and $20K to $30K I could have a great car. A change in my situation makes restoring my grandmother’s car not practical for me now. I’d like to find a good home for it, and someone who shares my passion and wants to adopt and complete this project.
I have done my best to keep all the parts that were from the car together. I believe that I have all the parts. Additionally, I have spare parts. Some working, but mostly the non-working original parts. The engine is on a custom stand, and comes with the car.
That one year old boy reaching for the door handle of this very car is me. September 1965 in Long Beach California.
