Vehicle Description
With its stout, vintage physique clad in an era-appropriate Ford
color and featuring a level of functionality that would be
impressive in any classic, let alone one that first set foot on the
asphalt more than 60 years ago, the mere sight of this 1956 Ford
F-350 is enough to put you in a good mood. Equally at home as a
classic car hauler, parade vehicle or show truck, this outstanding
antique workhorse will greet its new owner in great form while
carrying a collection of restoration photos to document its
transformation.
This F-350 will make anyone with even a casual interest in classics
take notice. Sturdily built, it looks like a supersized version of
its lighter duty counterparts and the level of detail it displays
is really impressive. Its front end and cab are draped in Meadow
Mist green, an era-appropriate selection from off the Ford color
chart the year it came out and a very effective backdrop for the
sharp badging it carries. Step around to the front and you'll see
how its protruding fenders give it a broad shouldered, powerful
appearance that conveys the notion it's capable of handling
anything you throw its way. And it is. This '56 benefitted from a
very thorough restoration, where it was completely disassembled and
had any issues found remedied with precision and skill - upon which
time it was thoroughly prepped and primed before being repainted.
It sports a new windshield up front with vintage amber glass
throughout the cabin and its alignment is very much on point - you
can see how precisely the corners of the trunk meet up with the
fenders on either side.
Climb the shiny black running board, open the driver side door and
you'll be greeted by an interior that's been refurbished to
original specs with a lot of attention to detail. The bench seat
has been covered in black vinyl that sits over fresh, firm padding
and doesn't show much wear at all. The steel surfaces of the
interior have all been painted to match the exterior and, just
beyond the original steering wheel, the fan-shaped instrument
cluster sits in the dash with its collection of factory gauges all
fully functional. Considering the rarity of this Ford, replacing
any missing elements inside would be no easy feat, so the fact that
they all sit securely in place is a big plus here. In back, the bed
area shows the same meticulous work performed on the rest of the
truck and features a new oak bed and surrounding stakes that are
held in place with original-era hardware and fresh stainless-steel
ribbing.
Raise the F-350's stout hood and you'll find a 292 cubic inch V8
sitting inside a very clean engine compartment, carrying an
Autolite under its black air cleaner and a pair of matching black,
Ford-branded valve covers on its sides. The Y-block powerplant was
rebuilt not long ago, is in strong running shape and shows no
penchant for burning oil, so it's well-positioned to power this
classic for many years to come. A 4-speed manual transmission that
features a proper compound low gear gets things moving in even the
most unforgiving of situations. True to its hard-working lineage,
this classic comes equipped with Power Take Off to lend its
strength to farm equipment or whatever else might need a helping
hand in the field. Power brakes that were also rebuilt not long ago
bring this one of a kind truck to a stop as it performs its duties
on 8R17.5 10-ply Double Coin tires up front and dual pairs of
Yokohama tires in back.
This 1956 Ford F-350 is a masterfully restored and highly
functioning piece of automotive history that would be an
outstanding addition to any collection. Call today!
