Really sharp color combination. This is a real 442 as verified by
vin #, original invoice and warranty card. Georgia car, has binder
of documentation including photos of the body off the frame
restoration.
EXTERIOR: The color is striking.
True story- We recently bought a collection of high end Chevelles
and this Olds was sitting next to them. I took 2 different people
over to show them these hot new Chevelles, both people pointed past
the Chevelles at the Olds and said I like that one! I was driving a
golf cart yesterday with my 12 year old. We drove past several
cars, she pointed at this Olds and said "that's pretty".
The paint is really sharp, it has a wet glossy finish. Even the
jambs are glossy. Body is straight. Upfront it has a new bumper,
the grills have been detailed, chrome around the front of the
fenders and hood and emblems have been replaced. The moldings down
the side have been professionally polished. The rain gutters, wheel
well moldings are replaced, mirrors and door handles are new. In
back it has new tail light bezels and lenses. New bumper notched
for the 442 exhaust tips. It has 15 inch chrome American Racing
wheels with performance tires. New windshield and
weatherstrips.
INTERIOR: The upholstery and door panels are all in very nice
condition. New window cranks. The dash pad is good, has aftermarket
tachometer in the dash. Also neatly installed gauges under the
dash. It has an upgraded custom steering wheel, upgraded retro
stereo with aux plug in console and 6x9 speakers in back. Someone
installed shoulder belts in back seat. The front shoulder belts are
missing.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is all metal with a jack and spare. Has power
trunk release. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb has slick
paint, new weatherstrip. Trunk light works.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's got a performance built 400 motor with
Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake. There is a big dual feed
Holley carb with electric choke, also and MSD Pro Billet ignition
and a set of headers. It was bored 30 over, has roller rockers,
Performer Plus cam, forged TRW pistons. There are many new parts-
alternator, sending unit, master cylinder, wiper motor etc. The a/c
compressor is replaced, updated to R-134 freon. It is dressed up
with new chrome valve covers and air cleaner.
UNDERSIDE: Remember it was off frame restored. Frame is smooth.
Floors are are clean metal. New body bushings. Front end is
rebuilt. Bottom of motor still looks clean, new starter. Turbo 400
looks new. In back it has a 12 bolt rear, boxed control arms, sway
bar and new shocks. It has a neatly bent Flowmaster exhaust with
crossover pipe.
This 442 is a proven attention getter. It is well restored, has
performance motor and air conditioning. It will be a pleasure to
own unless you don't like compliments!
