For Sale: 1962 Austin Sebring 5000/MX in Lutz, Florida
When you want to be more distinct than a Cobra replica, but still
want the same international style and lightweight nature, this 1963
Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III Sebring MX replica is the perfect
answer. It's filled with a performance American V8, five-speed
stick, A/C interior, and that kind of old-world look that makes
this British-like American so appealing.
The creamy white paint instantly reminds us of some of the best
English sports cars. But even this elegance can't hide the extra
wide fender flares that come on the fiberglass body. The execution
on this car is a true transatlantic partnership that blends the
brightwork of the original-inspired oval grille and thin bumpers
with large 15-inch American Racing competition-style alloys. Even
the details are great on everything from the classic hinges on the
trunk (boot) to the hot rod-style clear headlights. It's all the
perfect blend of the iconic style you love but with plenty of flair
to tells signal it's something extra special.
This car stays open to the world, and so the maroon interior color
looks great against the exterior white. While the original Healey
had an interior low on amenities, this one offers you the best
modern upgrades. It includes an AM/FM/CD iPod stereo with
touchscreen interface and modern R134a air conditioning. The seats
are modern buckets, so they have terrific bolstering for all-day
comfort. And while this is an updated package, it still doesn't
lose the Austin-Healey's feeling of being a true driver's machine.
That means a grippy Grant GT sports steering wheel, full set of VDO
gauges, and a stick shift in the perfect position to rest you right
hand.
Under the hood is where the best upgrade is. Just like a Shelby
Cobra, this Brit-style roadster gets a major power boost from an
American V8. In this case, it's a Chevy 350 cubic-inch motor that
looks awesome filling every inch of the engine bay. Plus, it offers
a performance appearance with the black air topper and matching
valve covers - all with red lettering. But more than just looking
nice, it has been upgraded with performance components like a
Holley four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. It's also
backed up by reliable components like a Griffin aluminum radiator,
HEI ignition, and a freshness that comes from only about 14k miles
on the whole build. It fires up readily with a nice grow from the
dual exhaust, and like a good European machine, you take full
control of the motor and its soundtrack with a stick shift - in
this case an upgraded five-speed. Plus, the Mustang II style
independent front suspension, front disc brakes, and sway bars
front & rear offer the kind of control you wished you had in a '60s
machine.
Complete with service manual, this is a terrific way to get iconic
style, V8 power, and a lightweight body. It's time to grab the best
of all worlds in a complete roadster package. Call today!!!
